NSC, NFF parley over electoral congress

The eggheads of the Nigeria Foot­ball Federation (NFF) Executive Committee yesterday met several hours with the Minister of Sports and Chairman, Nation­al Sports Commission (NSC), Dr. Tammy Da the ministry in Abuja to harmonise the conflicts surrounding the forthcoming NFF elections.
Daily Sunsports gathered at the secre­tariat of the Nigeria football governing body that the meeting was necessitated by the controversies surrounding the build-up to the general election coming up at the end of this month in Abuja, in addition to the board formally briefing the minister on happenings when was outside the country.
Our source further added that the parley was also in connection with the alleged directive from the security agency to the Chief Mike Umeh-led NFF board not to hold the yesterday’s proposed board meeting convened to review the build up to the election and deliberate on the re­ports of the committee that reviewed the ban clamped on some football stakehold­ers by the Aminu Maigari-led board.
Our correspondent who was among the journalists keeping vigil at the Glass House also reported that some other members of the NFF board like Chief Emeka Enya­ma, Barrister Chris Green, Felix Any­ansi, Ahmed Fresh, and Hon. Kwan­de among others waited for several hours for the meet­ing initially scheduled for 3.00pm.
Confirm­ing the situation, a member of the board told Daily Sunsports in confidence that the meet­ing with the minister was to address the litany of concerns ex­pressed by stakeholders concerning the election.
