26,391 civilians displaced from Bama –NEMA

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) yesterday said 26,391 people have been displaced from Bama following Monday’s clash between military forces and Boko Haram insurgents.
The North-East Information Officer of the agency, Abdulkadir Ibrahim, said though the displaced Bama residents were still trooping into Maiduguri, the agency had so far placed 26,391 civilians in two Internally Displaced Persons camps (IDPs) within the capital.
He said the agency had started making arrangements to ensure that they were provided with adequate relief materials.
