INEC suspends 2 officers over alleged rigging of Osun poll

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has suspended two of its top members of staff for allegedly conspiring with some politicians to rig the August 9 governorship election in Osun State.
The two INEC staff were said to be electoral officers in Osogbo and Obokun local government areas of the state respectively.
They were said to have manipulated the results of the governorship election in their respective local government areas.
National Commissioner of INEC, Ambassador Mohammed Wali, who supervised the election, confirmed the suspension of the two officers, saying a disciplinary panel had been set up to investigate the allegations levelled against them.
Wali, who spoke on telephone last night, said the two officers would be sanctioned in line with the laws of the commission if found culpable by the disciplinary panel.
