The President of NCWS in Kwara State, Hajia Barakat Atunse gave the endorsement during a courtesy visit by the women body to the governor in his office at the Government House, Ilorin.
“Without being rhetorical, sir, your shared prosperity project content is having far-reaching positive effect on Kwarans.
“It is devolving and trickling down to the doorsteps of all Kwarans regardless of political colouration or inclination. The project touches on employment, education, health, socio-economic transformation, water, energy, road, etc,” she said.
Hajia Atunse pledged the commitment and support of the women folk to the state government in improving the well being of the women in the state.
The NCWS also noted that the wife of the governor, Mrs Omolewa Ahmed had through her LEAH Charity Foundation touched “lives unimaginably, particularly women and children.”
In his remarks, Governor Ahmed said his administration’s programmes and policies were women and children-friendly because women played complementary and exemplary roles in family and nation-building.
He said women in the state accessed the over N700 million Small and Medium Scale Enterprises revolving loans through cooperative societies to empower themselves financially.
He promised that his administration would continue to carry out programmes that would enhance the well being of the women in the state.
