The vice chairman of the Nigeria Premier League outfit, Lobi Stars who had since submitted his form to the electoral committee said after wide consultation with genuine stakeholders, he decided to contest for the highly demanding office.
“I have joined the race for NFF presidency. This is the right time for me to positively transform Nigerian football,” the ex-international said.
“I have consulted widely and I think this is the time for me to prove to everyone that the problems associated with our football are surmountable.
“I have played for Nigeria and several clubs across the world. I have been a member of the NFF board. I have successfully coached Lobi Stars and I have administered the same club for so many years with results to show,” he said.
The NFF image had taken a battering over the past few months, and the negative publicity has been damaging to the country’s most popular sport.
World soccer governing body, FIFA had endorsed the decision of the Interim Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to conduct the election of September 4 in Abuja.
