Ekweremadu tells INEC ‘no more story’

Posted by: admin February 11, 2015 ENUGU—DEPUTY Senate President, Senator Ike Ekweremadu, has called on Nigerians to accept the shift of the general elections as announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, and admonished the commission to ensure there was no further story on the rescheduled dates. Ekweremadu stated this while speaking at a civic reception organized for him by the people of Ngwo in Udi Local Government Area of Enugu State. He said: “Whatever is worth doing at all is worth doing well. So if we need to do elections, we have to do it in the best of international practice. “The whole of Africa looks up to Nigeria. So if we are going to hold elections in Nigeria, the whole world wants us to see a transparent, free and fair election. “Therefore, if the postponement will guarantee that standard, I believe that it is the best to do. “We are hoping that the elections will hold according to the rescheduled dates. I am appealing to INEC to ensure that there is no further story on the rescheduled dates.” Vanguard http://scannewsnigeria.com/featured-post/ekweremadu-tells-inec-no-more-story/
