All is set for the official
commissioning of a multi-million naira Joan Taiwo Daramola (JTD)
Memorial Hospital at Ire Ekiti in Ekiti State built by member
representing Ekiti North Federal Constituency 1 in the House of
Representatives, Hon Bimbo Daramola.
This latest initiative, for which the constituents are said to be in jubilant mood already, is one out of the numerous development projects executed under the lawmaker’s Constituency Project, situated in areas like Ikole, Oye, Ire, Aiyegbaju and environs within his constituency.
In an interaction with journalists in Abuja, Daramola, who is fondly called ‘Congressman’ explained that the new hospital, which would be commissioned and open to public use on Saturday, November 8, 2014, is among the landmarks that would serve as reference point to his representation of his people since 2011 at the National Assembly.
He also noted that, as a progressive politician, he considered it worthwhile to intimate the public about the hospital, which he built with his personal funds, as part of measures specifically put in place to improve the quality of life and wellbeing of the people.
The JTD facility, which will be managed by the state’s Anglican Communion, is one of such hospitals in the state capital, Ado Ekiti, popularly called ‘Ile Abiye’, where Daramola was born over four decades ago.
According to him, the Anglican Communion has good history of managing such facilities creditably, adding that he is a living proof.
He,however, revealed that apart from the newly built hospital, youths from his constituency had repeatedly benefited from various empowerment schemes worth millions of naira.
