OKOROCHA IS OUR CANDIDATE FOR PRESIDENCY COME 2015 STOP BEGGING FOR OUR SUPPORT- IMO SPEAKER TELLS BUHARI

The Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly, Benjamin Uwajumogu Wednesday told former Military Head of State and presidential aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC), General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd), in clear terms that delegates of the APC from the state will not vote for him in the presidential primaries.

The Speaker made the pronouncement when Buhari paid an unscheduled visit to the Imo State House of Assembly to solicit support from the APC legislators of the assembly who are automatic delegates to the presidential primaries of the party.

Speaker Uwajumogu told the former Head of State that just like most Igbo men, the Imo State House of Assembly is supporting Governor Rochas Okorocha for the APC presidential ticket but will not be voting for Buhari.

The Speaker explained that: “The perception is that APC is not an Igbo party. Hence the Assembly is joining men of goodwill and indeed the entire Igbo nation to support Governor Rochas Okorocha and by so doing prove that Ndigbo truly have a stake in the APC.”
