OKOROCHA PICKS SON-IN-LAW AS IMO APC GUBER CANDIDATE.

Following pressures and controversies, the Imo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has finally announced Governor Rochas Okorocha’s son-in-law, Chief Uche Nwosu as its governorship candidate for the 2015 election.
In an unannounced event shortly after the conclusion of the party’s senatorial primaries last Saturday, Nwosu was ratified as the party’s candidate in the small hours of Tuesday morning at the International Conference Centre, Owerri.
The governorship candidate is the State Commissioner for Lands and Urban Development.
It is widely believed in political circles that Nwosu may be merely holding brief for Okorocha, who is vying to secure the party’s presidential ticket. Party sources confided in New Telegraph that Nwosu was apparently chosen because he seems the only person that can be trusted by the governor to hand him back the governorship ticket in the event of his failure in the APC presidential primaries. Speaking with journalists in Owerri, the State Chairman of the party, Dr. Hilary Eke, said the party decided to give its ticket to whoever it thinks could win elections.
It will be recalled that before this development, two top functionaries of the government had engaged themselves in a cold war over who succeeds Okorocha in the event that he bids for the presidency of the country.
