When I wrote my article titled ORJI UZOR KALU,ABIA NORTH SENATORIAL SEAT,AND THE JONATHAN FOR LIFE SLOGAN,only few Abians got my drive. Some kept wondering what I meant by my title of that article. Now,the game is getting very clear.
When a selfless leader serves his/her people,there is always a yearn for more years of service. Just like the unilateral call of Jonathan to continue. As a positive minded person and one who crave for a stronger democratic institution of his dear Nation. I feel that people like Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu should be begged to come in to serve in today's government at the red chamber of the Legislative angle. We should have done that by purchasing his nomination form and pay him a visit to beg him to come run for the Senate. Abia north has formidable frontline and we have been known across the Igbo States by our political prowess. OUK is one Igbo son who stood face to face with the then Sultan Maccido(of blessed memory) and told him that the northerners residing in the Eastern Nigeria,who fled due to impending crisis, were free to return back to the east but if the killing of the Igbos persist in the north,he won't guarantee the safety of the northern people in the East. He went further to say to the Sultan that the blood of a hotel owner is the same with the blood of a cattle rearer,non is superior to other. That singular speech and visit to Sokoto Caliphate put an end to the murder of Igbo's and destructions of their properties at every single provocation in the north through out their regime.
Despite distractions from some quotas,Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu is waxing strong and stronger. In a period like this where some of our Igbo leaders has pinched tent with Buhari because of their selfish interest,OUK is working hard day and night for the success of Goodluck Ebele Jonathan come 2015 general election. But there is this thing OUK said in his interview with AIT. He said "I do not perceive APC as playing it wrongly,it's good for our democracy. It will create a stronger democratic institution and make the legislative body to sit up by the 9th Assembly. I see it as a balance of terror." But he made it clear that Gen.Buhari will not win the election. Jonathan continuity is good for the unity of this nation.
Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu has put in money and time for Jonathan re-election campaign more than some of the State Governors! From January 10th till date,OUK has disbursed more than 78,000 out of 120,000 pieces of handset designed with Goodluck Jonathan picture made by SLOK telecom in Asia. And this handsets are given free to the downtrodden,farmers and artisans in the rural areas. This handsets were strongly designed for the rough handling by the users.
Today,OUK emerges as the only LEADER,whom has not gone home to tell his people that he is running for any elective office,yet his people are campaigning day and night for him to come run for SENATE. The campaign down the east is gaining so much momentum that one would wonder if there are no other candidates. I foresee a situation where OUK will win that Senate seat without a single poster...that is,if he later agrees to run for the Senate 2015 Abia North.
