4 killed in Fulani/Eggon crisis in Nasarawa

No fewer than four people were reported killed in a renewed clash between Fulani herdsmen and Eggon farmers in Nasarawa Eggon Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.
According to eyewitness account, the incident was a spill over of the recent clash between Fulani herdsmen and Eggon farmers at Fadaman Bauna in Lafia Local Government Area of the state ,where many lives were lost and property worth millions of naira destroyed.
When Daily Sun visited the Fulani herdsmen’s settlements along Akwanga Road in Nasarawa Eggon yesterday, houses were still burning while the herdsmen had deserted their homes.
Some herdsmen, who survived the attack, were seen taking refuge near Falke filling station in Akwanga. Most of them, who declined comments on the incident, were seen with their cattle making houses for their families.
However, it was gathered that the crisis started when a Fulani herdsman took his cattle into an Eggon farm.
When contacted, Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, Umar Numan (ASP), said no casualty was recorded in the incident, adding that only three Fulani herdsmen were injured during the clash.
