Kaduna schools to screen students, pupils on resumption

Kaduna State Government yesterday  directed   primary and secondary schools in the state to screen all their pupils and students as a condition for  allowing them back  on resumption on October 13.
Education  Commissioner   Ibrahim Ali  told head teachers  of  private and public schools in Kaduna that government would distribute the necessary medical  equipment   to  the schools before the resumption date to enable them carry out tests on the pupils.
Two such machines will be given to each school with a population of 500 and below while schools with a population of up to  1,000 students will receive  four  each.
On school fees,  Ali warned private schools in particular  to desist from arbitrary increase .
He also warned  public school principals to stop using their personal bank accounts for the deposit of  school fees.
“All public schools must make frantic efforts to remit school fees to the government coffers in due time and as a matter of urgency open school accounts, in case you don’t have an active school account,” he said.
