OBTAINING GOODS UNDER FALSE PRETENSES/ARREST OF FRAUDSTERS/RECOVERY OF VEHICLE (#ANAMBRA STATE).

On 25.08.2014 at about 4:30PM, upon a distress call Police operatives ON STOP AND SEARCH ALONG AWKA/ENUGU EXPRESSWAY intercepted an unregistered Toyota Corolla car with two male occupants. The car was earlier reported taken away from the owner - a car dealer in Awka fraudulent circumstances. The owner handed over the car to the suspects after receiving a Bank SMS credit alert of One million, three hundred and fifty thousand Naira (N1,350,000:00) on his phone. But not too long the victim discovered that the Bank credit alert he received was fraudulently created by the suspects and pushed to his mobile phone. Victim immediately alerted the Police and information was sent out to all Police units, one of the suspects waived a fake Police ID card at the officers that accosted them apparently to evade arrest. Both suspects have been taken into custody and car recovered, investigation is ongoing.

NOTE: Cross check credit alerts purportedly paid by a third part from your bank before you part with your goods.
