Chadian Soldiers Tackle Boko Haram, Free Some Abducted 100 Persons

Some of the 100 persons believed to have been abducted by the Boko Haram in the border community of Doron Baga recently have been freed by Chadian rebels after a heated gun battle at a border location between Nigeria and Chad Republic, security sources said.
The abduction, according to a top security official in Maiduguri who would not want to be named in this report because his job was not to speak for the military, actually took place on the 10th of August.
There were rumours that the captors had intended to take the over 100 persons comprising of over 70 young men and about 20 females to an unknown places for indoctrination to beef up their depleting ranks.
The top security official said the abductors could not go far as they were intercepted by the Chadian forces where they were engaged and many of the insurgents were killed and most of the abducted persons also freed.
“Some Boko Haram insurgents had attacked Doron Baga in Kukawa Local government area of Borno state on the 10th August.
