#NEWSUPDATE 2015: YUGUDA YET TO DECLARE FOR PRESIDENCY, SAYS AIDE

Gov Isa Yuguda of Bauchi State has yet to declare his desire to contest the presidency or a senate seat, his spokesman, Malam Danlami Takko, says.

He told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Bauchi that it had become necessary to clear the air to prevent some people from using the people of the state to heat up the polity.

What was happening was simply a clamor by many interest groups and political supporters urging the governor to contest the presidency or the senatorial seat, Takko said.

According to the spokesman, “If he decides today to contest, either the senate or the presidency, the man, Malam Isa Yuguda, is fully qualified and there is no problem about that.

He has a track record of good public service career; an excellent achiever. He has done very well in Bauchi State. He has left his indelible mark in the history of Bauchi state.

But considering that the governor is holding a very high position, and a very sensitive one for that matter, I think a word of caution for his supporters is that they should be very careful not to give the impression that it is the governor himself that is asking them to do this”.
