THE NEXT ABIA STATE GOVERNOR WAS AT TODAY'S ABIA STATE UNION MEETING HELD IN LAGOS.

The Abia state people's choice as next governor, the DIKE ABIA and former Army Chief of Staff of Federal Republic of Nigeria - Retired Lieutenant General Azubike Ihejirika was at the venue of ABSU monthly meeting to seek ways of moving Abia state forward as next governor. He was recieved on his arrival by the President of ABSU - Emmanuel Anthony Ekwuribe and the past ABSU President - High Chief (Dr) Chijioke Kanu in attached picture.
Rtd. Lt. Gen Azubuike Ihejirika was born on February 13, 1956 in Ovim, Isuikwuato Local Government Area, Abia State. He commissioned into the army on December 17, 1977 as a member of the Nigerian Defence Academy 18th regular combatant course. Prior to being appointed COAS, he was the Chief of Defence Logistics at Defence Headquarters. He was also the former GOC of 81 Division at Lagos, and a former Director of Engineering at Defence Headquarters.
He is a fellow of Nigeria Institute of Quantity Surveyors, he was the Chief of Defence Logistic, Defence Headquarters before he assumed his position as Chief of Army Staff..
