Ogun provides survey equipment to aid accurate measurement

The Ogun State Government has procured modern survey equipment for proper survey work on land matters for surveyors, engineers and environmentalists in the State.
Mr. Adewale Oshinowo, Special Adviser/ Director General Bureau of Lands and Survey, made this known while receiving the equipment on behalf of the state government at Oke-Mosan Abeokuta.
He said the equipment would boost the activities of land related matters in terms of survey of lands in the state arguing that it would also reduced the work hazard and stress of the survey and lands officers in the field.
Oshinowo noted that the Global Positioning System (GPS 1200) and Global Navigational Satellite System (GNSS) have the capacity to read and survey lands faster than one can imagined, adding that it would reduce drastically the stress of land matters and ease the process of survey data collection in the state.
According to him ‘’Application Programmers, Road Runner Alignment Suite and Seamless Data equipment when put into use will increase the productivity and optional application programmers for special task, stressing that some of its functions included; reading time kinematic system (RTK), which can be easily connected to the Continuously Operating Reference System (CORS) that was established within the State with high degree of accuracy positioning’’
Oshinowo maintained that the equipment would also aid and fast track the documentation of land processes and issuance of Certificate of Occupancy (C of O) to the citizens who had already keyed into the Homeowners’ Charter programme, believing that it has good establishment of first order and ideal for topographical survey across the state.
He also highlighted the needs for the equipment that includes good mapping for lands surface already made for routing survey and highly intelligent equipments that is users friendly.
