BUHARI DENIES LINK WITH ARAB DONORS.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential candidate in the February general elections, General Mohammadu Buhari, has denied reports that he was expecting funds from some Arab countries to prosecute his campaign ahead the elections.
The Buhari Support Organisations (BSO) has however, disclosed that its fund-raising efforts, known as Buhari Crowding Funding Initiative has so far netted a total of N118, 702, 265. 36.
Speaking with journalists yesterday in Abuja, the convener of the meeting of the Buhari Support Groups and the Chief of Staff to the former Head of State, Col. Hamid Ali (rtd) angrily debunked the allegation, saying, “It is not true. I am part of it, I am in the centre of it and I don’t know of any Arab man that has spoken to us, so it is untrue, it is false.”
When asked to tell Nigerians whether the campaign team will depend only on the money they are raising to carry out the campaign, Col. Ali said, “Buhari has said it that he launched the funding to get money purposely from the lower people because he want the commitment of the people and to remember when he get to the office that it is the sweat of the people that got him there and by that he he will be more committed to serve them.”
He confirmed that the campaign team is also getting money from other sources who may not necessarily have to buy card before donating to the course, adding that if such money is deposited into the account and the source is known they will also make it known to the public.
In his speech, Ali explained that the sum of N54 million was realized as at December 24, 2014 while an additional N64, 702,265.36 was contributed to the fund as at yesterday.
“We salute the courage and commitment of Nigerians across ethnic and religious divides who desire true change and confidence in the ability of General Buhari to provide the leadership that will secure our nation prosper our people.”
On Gen. Buhari’s academic qualifications, the team leader said “Gen. Buhari went through the military; he got admitted and went to UK to train, so if Gen. Buhari does not have required qualifications he would not in the first place be admitted as a Cadet.
This is even as General Buhari, has berated the federal government’s economic policies, saying it was worsened the lives of Nigerians.
The former Military Head of State made this known yesterday when he visited the Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, at the Government House, Owerri.
Buhari promised to return the country on the right track if Nigerians vote for him in the upcoming Presidential election in February.
He warned that corruption was growing rapidly in the country, and if nothing is done to surmount it, the spate of corruption would engulf the entire nook and cranny of the nation.
“I will break that vicious circle.
If you don’t deal with corruption in Nigeria, as it is, it will take Nigeria.” He warned sternly.
The APC Presidential flag bearer was accompanied by the Director–General of his campaign Organization and the Governor of Rivers State, Chief Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi,
the National Chairman of the APC, Chief John Oyegun,
Senator Chris Ngige,
a former governor, John Oni,
the Organizing Secretary of the party, Chief Osita Izunaso,
a chieftain of the party, John Mughalu, among others.
Speaking on how the country’s currency stoop low before the dollar, Buhari recalled that when he was in government as the military Head of state, $1.4 was exchanging for N1.
