The fate of former Super Eagles midfielder Dahiru Sadi was fuzzy last night after he was arrested by officials of the Directorate of State Security (DSS) following a scuffle with security operatives at the Nigeria Premier Football League Super Four Invitational Tournament in Abuja.
Sadi was bundled into a car and taken to an unknown destination by some DSS personnel on duty at the National Stadium,  Abuja after a disagreement with Sadi at the VIP Section of the stadium culminated into a fight.
According to those present at the scene,  tempers flared when Sadi, who is the President of the Association of Professional Footballers of Nigeria (APFON) got to  the VIP gate midway into the match between Kano Pillars and Nigeria U-21 team, and was momentarily asked by DSS officials for his invitation card to gain access to the state box.
When Sadi who introduced himself as a former international, could neither present an invitation card nor an national identity card, he was prevented from entering prompting Sadi to become angry.
The brush up that ensued attracted many dignitaries to the scene. DSS officials on duty alleged that Sadi assaulted one of them in the course of duty.
Sadi was beaten and was subsequently ferried into a car that sped out of the stadium to an unknown location, despite pleas by NFF stalwarts led by Secretary General Musa, the President of League Management Company (LMC) Shehu DIkko and some former footballers at the scene.
The operatives insisted on arresting Sadi for assault.
Sadi, who played professional football for the defunct DIC Bees of Kaduna, presented the Flying Eagles at the FIFA World Cup in Mexico in 1983 and later the Super Eagles.
