BREAKING NEWS

From the news reaching us this afternoon, it has been confirmed that suspected Boko Haram members on motorcycles have again attacked some Borno villages, killing two people and injuring nine others. Sources said some insurgents on four motorcycles stormed Alau Ngawo Fatoye village in Jere Local Government  Area of Borno, at about 9pm on Wednesday and opened fire on residents. “Each of the motorcycles carried three Boko Haram members holding their guns. Two people died as many of the villagers fled upon sighting the insurgents but nine people were also wounded,” a security source hinted.
The insurgents were said to have set fire on houses and shops. They also carted away foodstuffs during Wednesday’s attack, described as the second this year.
Alau Ngawo Fatoye is located along Konuga-Maiduguri Road, North East of Borno and about 10 kilometres away from Maiduguri, the state capital.
Neither the police nor the 7 Division of the Nigerian Army could confirm the incident as at press time.
