Governor Idris Wada of Kogi State has enjoined Nigerians to give
maximum support to President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration, saying
no government in the world is perfect.
The governor gave the charge yesterday at the Government House in Lokoja
during an interaction with journalists in the state in commemoration of
Democracy Day
He said the worst democratic government is better than the most
charitable military government, urging all Nigerians to continue to
defend democracy at all times
Lamenting the spate of insecurity perpetrated by the Boko Haram Islamist
sect, he said security was business the of all and that Nigerians
should stop blaming President Jonathan
His words: “Let us all continue to defend and protect our democracy, we
should remember that we are first, citizens of this great country before
any other thing else.
“We must not do anything that will scatter this country bcause of
certain interests. There is nowhere in the world where we have a perfect
government, we improve daily. So, stop blaming the government and stop
blaming the president.
“Honestly, as a pilot, I have gone virtually to all countries of the
world, I have never seen a country so great as Nigeria, with its
hardworking, resilient and committed citizens, and vast land with
abundant resources.”
Governor Wada, who was full of praises for Jonathan, said instead of
people blaming the president, Nigerians should rather commend him for
allowing foreign countries to intervene in the rescue operation of the
abducted Chibok schoolgirls.
