Julius Agwu VS Basket Mouth: Who’s funnier?

Ever since Alibaba transformed comedy into a money spinner, a whole generation of youths have taken after him and today, Julius Agwu and Basketmouth feature prominently on the A list of comedians in Nigeria. Today, the comedians clash on Showdown! as readers determine who is the funnier of the duo.

Julius D Genius Agwu is the fifth child from a family of six. A graduate of Theatre Arts from the University of Port-Harcourt, Agwu started out as an actor and featured in several movies before delving into singing and creating what he has christened music-comedy. His comedy show, Crack Ya Ribs, is one of the most sought after comedy events in the country.

Abia State-born Bright Okpocha grew up in the Lagos ghetto of Kirikiri. However, Basketmouth has established himself as one of the most sought after comedians in the country. The graduate of Sociology and Anthropolgy from the University of Benin (UNIBEN) came into the limelight in 2001. In 2005 and 2006, he won the National Comedy Award for the Best Standup Comedian of The Year. He is the creator of popular comedy show, Basketmouth Uncensored.

Julius Agwu is childish –Fatimah Ukeh

I will choose Basketmouth any day. I personally don’t like Julius Agwu because he is not funny and he behaves childishly. But Basketmouth cracks mature jokes and is really funny too.

I am a very big fan of Basketmouth’s. I have watched them perform while I was a student at the University of Lagos but I find Basketmouth funnier; he’s a total comedian.
