| Kidnappers free 2 Nigerian hostages abducted with 3 Dutch nationals |

Gunmen who abducted three Dutch Nationals and two Nigerians in Letugbene community in Bayelsa have freed their Nigerian hostages.
The hostages Mr. Femi Soewu and Mr Sunny Ofehe, were freed on Monday evening.
Three Dutch citizens were seized by gunmen at Letugbene community in Bayelsa on May 4.
Ofehe is Founder/Executive Director Hope for Niger Delta Campaign, a Non Governmental Organization based in The Netherlands. Ofeghe said a in statement in Yenagoa on Tuesday that the gunmen were still holding the Dutch citizens.
A spokesman of the Bayelsa police command, Mr Alex Akhigbe, said the kidnappers were yet to establish contact nor demand for ransom.
The Dutch citizens are Mr. Erhard Leffers, Mrs. Marianne Vos and Mr Jan Andre Groenendijk.
Narrating his ordeal, Ofehe said the incident occurred while returning to Warri after a tour of the newly built hospital funded by Chevron.
“I and Femi were later blindfolded along one of the creeks and ordered into another boat from the one they first took us in.
“They took us to an unknown location and left us there while we were still blind-folded and kept separately.
“Late Monday evening, we were both taken away in a speedboat and brought to another unknown community where they abandoned us.
“The armed men then threatened us to leave the Niger Delta region if we wanted to remain alive.
“We were able to find our way through a path to the town and call for help.”
He said some local people ferried them to a nearby jetty from where they were taken to a place where they got a boat to the upland.
“While I sympathize with the families of the remaining abducted victims, I appeal to the kidnappers to please release the other members of my team,” Ofehe stated.
