Another police inspector dies in Aba

Barely two days after a police inspector shot himself in the leg and died in Aba, officers and men of Osisioma Police Station near the commercial city in Abia State have be thrown into mourning again following the sudden death of a police inspector attached to the crime unit. The deceased policeman was identified as Inspector Samuel Amaefule.
Last Sunday, a policema identified as Inspector Sunday Mefo of the Patrol and Guard (P&G) unit, Central Police Station (CPS), Aba shot himself in the leg and later died in a hospital.
It was gathered that Inspector Amaefule, who was hale and hearty, slumped while urinating within the premises of the police station and later died despite attempts to save his life.
According to a source, “he was urinating somewhere at a corner of the station and before you knew it, he slumped. People who were around quickly rushed to pick him up, but before any help could come, he had died.”
Though it was not clear at press time whether the police officer had been suffering from any ailment before the incident, sources said Amaefule might have suffered heart attack.
Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, Geoffrey Ogbonna, could not be reached for comments, but a senior police officer confirmed the incident.
