Adamawa Acting Gov sets up panel

The Acting Governor of Adamawa State, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, yesterday, constituted a seven-man panel of inquiry to unravel the alleged  disappearance of over N82 billion from the state’s coffers during the tenure of the ousted Governor Murtala Nyako.
The panel, headed by a former Acting Chief Judge of the state, Justice Bobboi Umar, is  saddled with the responsibility of undertaking a comprehensive assessment of governance in the state from June 2007 to  June 2014, and is expected to submit its report within four weeks with recommendations to government on all issues investigated.
The  acting governor pledged to constitute a panel on alleged financial  recklessness committed by the ousted Nyako-led administration to the tune of N82billion and promised that the stolen money would be recovered.
According to a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, yesterday, it said  the panel  was  expected to investigate financial accruals to the state from June 2007 to June 2014.
The  acting governor charged the panel to investigate disbursement and application of funds to Ministries, Boards and Agencies over the period and any other issue that the panel might find relevant to its assignment.
The terms of reference of the panel includes determining the appropriateness or otherwise of disbursements and application of funds over the period in reference.
In the same vein, the SSG had said that the panel would identify those involved in misappropriation, financial distribution and application, adding that it would equally investigate recruitment, deployment and administration of human resources including the setting up, financing and operation of extra ministerial units.
The seven man panel of enquiry is chaired by Hon. Justice Bobbo Umar while Dedan Nyari(Director Min. of Justice)serve as secretary. and Samuel L. Key son -Prosecutor. Other members are D.I .G  Leha Rtd (Demsa), Zira Maigada(Michika), Engr. Suleiman M. Naiwa(Hong) Abubakar Abdullahi(Song)
