Yusuf faults NFF election

Former secretary general of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Dr. Tijani Yusuf, wants the soccer federation’s election billed for tomorrow postponed.
Yusuf told Daily Sunsports that the election will end up not producing a credible president since those running the show now have a hidden agenda.
He pointed out that since the NFF crisis started, the Sports Minister, Tammy Danagogo, has not been consulting genuine football stakeholders but charlatans that have been deceiving him.
“What the minister should have done is to seek the advise of genuine stakeholders like Ibrahim Galadima, John Obakpolor, Jonathan Ogufere and many others that would tell him the truth. He had been deceived and if we go ahead with the elections we will end up electing a new NFF president that will take our football backward.”
Yusuf stressed that, “we have ridiculed ourselves before the World soccer governing body, FIFA.
“Even those in FIFA now see us as unserious people, given the way we have been washing our dirty linens before the public. And from all indications, the crisis wont even be over after the elections because those that lose out will keep fighting basically for selfish reasons and not because they are genuinely interested in moving the game forward.”
“Most of the people we have on the board and some of those jostling for the NFF job are ‘food is ready’ candidates that have nothing to contribute to Nigerian football.
