More talks are to be held in Burkina Faso between opposition parties and the military, which has promised to hand power over to a unity government. On Sunday, an army spokesman said it had no interest in retaining control following the abrupt resignation of Blaise Compaore last week. There have been demonstrations against the military in the capital, Ouagadougou, where there is suspicion over the army's intentions. But a BBC correspondent says there is also optimism that a peaceful transition can be effected. The African Union security council will meet on Monday to discuss the crisis.
