KADUNA
–Hundreds of thousands of unruly youths from strongholds of the All Peoples Congress, APC, in Kaduna State yesterday shut down most major streets in the northern parts of Kaduna metropolis, in a frenzy of support for the APC Presidential candidate, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, rtd, as they awaited his visit
The youths who thronged out as early as 8am from, Tudun Wada, Kawo, Ungwan Rimi, Malali, and other adjoining Kaduna towns believed to be APC strongholds, wielded weapons, and forced motorist and passersby to chant, (sai Buhari, sai El Rufai ) meaning “Buhari and El Rufai only.”
Shops were hurriedly closed as parents rushed to schools to bring back their children.
There was serious traffic gridlock in the town as people complained of being trapped for hours under steady harassments from the lawless supporters of the retired general
The haggard looking youths also molested anyone with a sticker of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and known fans of the party who were spotted driving along any of the besieged streets.
They youths who defied the cold weather and the ban on Okada (commercial motorcycles), conveying more than two persons by the state government for security reasons, labeled the PDP and Kaduna State governor, Mukhtar Ramalan Yero all sorts of unprintable names.
