2015: Rivers PDP denies working against Wike’s guber ambition

Rivers State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has  said  it has not shut its door against the Supervising Minister of Education, Nyesom Wike, or any member of the party, who wishes to contest for the office of governor in 2015.
In a statement issued in Port Harcourt yesterday, and signed by Jerry Needam, the Special Adviser on Media to the state chairman of the party, Chief Felix Obuah, the party  described as rumour, news making the rounds that it had stopped the minister from contesting the governorship election.
The party alleged that the report was the handiwork of some ‘intimidated aspirants and opponents’,  especially in the All Progressives Congress (APC).
According to Needam, the PDP had not received any letter from  any member indicating his or her interest to contest the governorship in 2015, let alone endorsing anyone as its flagbearer.
