Kawu had disassociated himself from Maigari’s impeachment, alleging that his signature was forged.
According to him; “I want to put it on record that my signature for the impeachment of Aminu Maigari was forged. I’m not the one who wrote my name neither is it my signature. I want to make it clear to the media that I will challenge the forging of my signature. I will certainly take legal action about it but I will have to do some consultations.”
However, , a board member and chairman of chairmen, Chief Effiong Johnson, warned Kawu to withdraw the allegation with an apology or be ready for forensic examination to ascertain the authenticity of his claims.
Chief Effiong insisted that Kawu signed the impeachment voluntarily, explaining that they had given him several documents showing the sins of the impeached NFF president before he willingly signed.
“We were very surprise to read Kawu alleging that his impeachment signature was forged. My advice to him is to watch his utterances or better shut up. If he does not withdraw the allegation, we are going to drag him to forensic examination to ascertain the authenticity of his claims.
“If he loves himself, he should urgently withdraw the claim with an apology. After going through the allegations against Maigari, he willingly appended his signature without any cohesion from anybody,” he affirmed .
Chief Effiong explained that Kawu ran away when a board member backing Maigari has asked him, ‘Kawu, you of all people also signed the impeachment’ after reading out the names of the signatories.
“It is not true that Kawu contested his inclusion and signature. What happened was that he ran away from the boardroom out of shame when a board member expressed surprise for signing the impeachment, despite his closeness to Maigari. He did not continue the meeting with us. We insist he must withdraw the forgery claim or risk forensic examination”
