The President of Good Governance Initiative (GGI) and CEO, Blue Di­amond Logistics, China, Mr. Festus Mbisiogu has received the prestigious Asia-Pacific award in Beijing for outstanding achievement in business and diaspora community service.
Appreciate Africa Net­work organized the event in collaboration with Af­rican Achievers Interna­tional, a group of Non-Governmental Institutions registered in the United Kingdom and China.
Mr. Mbisiogu beat other four nominees in the cate­gory of Entrepreneurs who have established remark­able impact among Diaspo­ra Africans in China in the area of trade and services.The organizing group used the occasion to mark its first anniversary when it laid the first red carpet in 2013 for China-Africa en­thusiasts to appreciate the values of Africa’s socio-cultural and economic contributions in the world, especially, in the new emerging China.
In his acceptance speech, Mr. Mbisiogu, who was represented by Hon. Njoku Jeremiah, advised Diaspora Africans to start thinking of repatriating their businesses and wealth to Africa as any invest­ments taken home, would produce multiple effect on the continent’s fortune as well as its growing popula­tion of young people.
“For Africa to witness growth there must be peace and stability. It behooves the African rulers and men in authority to shun corrup­tion and pay attention to nation-building as I believe that one day, Africa will rule the world even though it may not be in our time, but it will certainly hap­pen,” said Mbisiogu.
Mbisiogu’s citation de­scribed the industrialist and philanthropist as one of the few success stories of Diaspora Africans who have explored the vast Chi­na business empire and ex­celled virtually in all areas.
