EXTORTION: Five Killed In Lagos

36 people working in a quarry in Mandera in northern Kenya.
The crisis between two factions of a popular political party (name withheld) in Ijora area of Lagos State has led to the death of five people.
The political factions were said to have been after each other’s for some weeks now over alleged sharing formula of money handed over to the by a politician in the area.
Though, the cause of the incident was shrouded in secrecy, a source disclosed that the crisis between the two factions had been on for months now.
A man who identified himself as Kamoru, alleged that five people were killed while many others were injured during the crisis.
Kamoru said the cause of the problem is usually over money between the factions, adding that more people would have been killed if not for the policemen who arrived the scene on time.
“We are used to such crisis in Ijora. All the innocent people do is to give the trouble makers a chance to kill or injure themselves and after which peace would return to the area. I heard that they were fighting because of the money a politician gave all the hoodlums. They belong to one party and they are killing themselves. I heard that five people were killed and many others injured. This is not how to play politics. Now, their parents will be crying over the death of their beloved ones? Police should better be well prepared during the general election,” he advised.
