Lagos 2015: Nothing can deter me from the race, says GOS

Lagos 2015: Nothing can deter me from the race, says GOS

An All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain and Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Ganiyu Olarewaju Solomon (GOS), has said that he stands by his declaration to govern Lagos State on the platform of his party, insisting that nothing can deter him from contesting the 2015 governorship election in Lagos State.
Solomon, who was fielding questions from journalists at the weekend maintained that, as a party man, he would pursue his governorship ambition as dictated by democratic ethos to a logical conclusion.
When reminded that the Lagos monarch, Oba Rilwan Akiolu has endorsed a particular aspirant, Solomon said: “It has happened a number of times when a traditional ruler in one state would say this is the person we want. At the end of the day, the man would not go anywhere. It has happened several times. I don’t want to cite instances.
“Even in Lagos, it has happened. In our own case, such statements would not deter us. It will not deter the party man. You go around to meet the members. They are now determined.”
