THERE was a mild drama on
Saturday morning as a mad man, half naked, zoomed into the Alhaji
Abdulazeez Arisekola Alao mosque, situated at Iwo-Road, Ibadan, causing
panic among worshippers.
The man, who entered the mosque when
a congregation on Ihtikaaf were sleeping after observing the early
morning Zubhi, was speaking incoherent English language, saying
“leave me, I came to see Umar Kamara from Senegal”. The congregation,
who were scared, suspected he might be a member of the dreaded Boko
Haram sect.
When the suspected mad man was questioned further,
it was discovered that he was not mentally stable and only missed his
way by entering the mosque.
The Chief Imam of the Mosque, Imam Abdul Rasaq Akuru, however, pleaded with the people around not to beat him.
