EMIR RETURNS TO MUBI AMID JUBILATION.

The Emir of Mubi Alhaji Abubakar Isa Ahmadu, returned to his palace on Friday amid jubilation by residents three weeks after the town was retaken from Boko Haram insurgents.
Hundreds of residents lined up the streets to welcome the emir, as he arrived the second biggest town in Adamawa State, chanting “Baba yadawo, sannu da zuwa,” meaning “the emir has returned, welcome back.”
The emir was in Saudi Arabia as the head of Adamawa State government delegation to this year’s hajj when militants seized the commercial town from Nigerian soldiers, displacing thousands of residents.
Addressing journalists in his palace, the monarch revealed that his palace had been vandalised by the terrorists, and called on his subjects to take the losses they suffered as the will of God.
He admonished Nigerians to embark on soul searching and seek divine intervention to end the carnage, saying something must have gone wrong for Nigeria to plunge into the current mess.
“We Nigerians need to rethink and search ourselves where we have gone astray. God can only help us when we are sincere to ourselves,” the emir said.
He was escorted to his palace by the chief of staff to Governor Bala James Ngilari and other government dignitaries after two months sojourn in Yola, the state capital.
Residents expressed happiness for the development, saying it will encourage displaced persons to return to their homes.
“This is one of the happiest days of my life and I pray things have normalised for the better,” a resident Habu Ibrahim said.
