Jonathan-Goodluck2
A legal practitioner, Mr. Joe Agi (SAN), has said that the recent impeachment threat against President Goodluck Jonathan by some members of the National Assembly is politically motivated.
Agi, who is a frontline governorship aspirant in Cross River State on the platform of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) expressed belief the issue would be laid to rest as soon as the presidency reconciled itself with some aggrieved senators.
The aspirant who stated in an interview in Calabar on Sunday, said the ruling would overcome the enormous challenges facing the ruling party to remain intact.
He contended that impeachment move against Jonathan was politically motivated and would be solved politically, adding that “you are aware that there are issues of automatic ticket for senators and some governors are opposing it. The impeachment threat will soon subside”, he pointed out.
Confirming he is among the 10 governorship aspirants cleared to slug it out in the party’s governorship primaries slated for December 8, 2014, Agi expressed confidence he would emerge victorious at the poll.
