He said the command held a meeting with stakeholders and said they have all pledged to ensure peaceful conduct of the election. He said his officers and men are up to the task ahead.
Maishanu disclosed that the police are working round-the-clock to forestall any breakdown of law and order before, during and after the election. He said he conducted training for the rank and file as well as officers on how to conduct themselves during the election. The training, he said, included ensuring that civilians are well treated during the election.
He appealed to residents not to cause any mayhem saying that election should be carrted out free and fair. He warned that the command would not hesitate to bring to book, anybody who trted to violate the law or cause chaos before, during and after the election.
Maishanu also said that the peaceful nature of the state should not be upturned by politicians for selfish interest adding that anyone caught violating the law would be dealt with. He warned all the Divisional Police Officers and Area Commanders to be vigilant and maintain peace in their domains.
He commended the efforts of the sister security agencies like the Nigerian Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
