2015: Araraume promises to transform Imo

Governorship aspirant and businessman, Senator Ifeanyi Araraume, has promised to transform the economy of Imo State and create employment for the youths if elected governor in 2015.
Araraume made the promise yesterday, while addressing members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Obowo Local Government Area of the state, stressing that the state needed committed leadership to turn the economy around.
Araraume, who represented Imo North (Okigwe) in the Senate for eight years expressed dismay at the level of unemployment, crime and disillusionment in the state because of what he called, “failure of governance.”
According to him, those who had ruled the state since 2007, failed to address the issues of unemployment, decay in the health sector, corruption and lack of enabling environment for private-sector participation in the state.
While paying glowing tribute to former governor of old  Imo State, late Chief Sam Mbakwe, for laying a solid foundation in the state,  he lamented that all the industries Mbakwe set up had either been sold fraudulently or appropriated to the wrong people by those in power.
He regretted that investors have shunned the state because of the failure of the government to provide needed infrastructure and incentives.
However, he promised to transform the state by creating policies that would revolutionalise health care, education and employment generation and advised Imo electorate to elect only those with leadership qualities and commitment to the welfare of the people in the 2015 general elections.
