Mu’azu’s visit deepens Rivers PDP crisis

The recent visit of the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu, to Rivers State has deepened the crisis rocking the state chapter of the party, instead of resolving it, Daily Sun investigation has revealed.
It was gathered that the chairman’s visit was in connection with the internal crisis in the party, but another source said his visit was for the commissioning of projects and donation of relief materials to the victims of Rumowoji Mile 1 Market, Port Harcourt fire disaster, that occurred on December 17, 2013.
However, checks revealed that the other faction of the party in the state was not informed about the visit.
Mu’azu had during the visit, declared that the party would produce the next governor of Rivers State.
Addressing the teeming PDP supporters at the party secretariat in Port Harcourt, Mu’azu commended them for their loyalty and dedication, saying occupying the Brick House (Rivers State Government House), was their target.
His words: “I am happy with your dedication; I am happy with your loyalty to your party and by the grace of God, we will be the next occupant of the Brick House.
“I want to also commend the efforts of Wike, the Minister of State for Education, who has been very committed to the cause of the party in the state.
The national chairman later left with his entourage to Ojukwu Field at Mile 1 in the Diobu area of Port Harcourt, where he donated N250 million to the Rumowoji traders to ameliorate the hardship they were going through since the Rumowoji market was burnt.
He said President Goodluck Jonathan had asked him to donate the money on behalf of the PDP.
