The local government areas include Anaocha, Awka North, Awka South, Dunukofia, Idemili North, Idemili South and Njikoka.
According to a statement signed by C. J. Nwosu for the Ngige Scholarship Scheme, the beneficiaries include students from both secondary and tertiary institutions in the country.
The statement listed some of the beneficiaries as a visually impaired student, Ejilogu Godswill, of the Department of Political Science, University of Nigeria, Nsukka; Egbobe Samuel Agulu, a student of the Department of Business Management, Imo State University, Okigwe; Obiekeziiie Achalla, Political Science, Anambra State University, Uli; Ndigwe Chinenye , Computer Science, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka; Emmanuel Umudioka, Educational Biology , Nwafor Orizu College of Education, Nsugbe; Enedu Oba, Department of Electrical Electronic Engineering, Federal Polytechnic, Oko and Okafor-Ocha Abba, Department of Medicine and Surgery, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka.
It added that disbursement to the lucky students would last from Friday, October 10 to Monday, October 13, 2014 in the respective local government areas.
