2015: APC Warns Southern Kaduna Against PDP Antics

The Kaduna State Chapter of the All Progressive Congress (APC) has warned the people of Southern Kaduna to be conscious of the “use and dump antics” of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state ahead of the 2015 general elections.
The party, which was reacting to the alleged plans by the state governor to force the people of the area to endorse his gubernatorial ambition ahead of the 2015 elections in the state, urged the people of Southern Kaduna to “resist the temptation of being used as sacrificial lamb”.
Barrister Mohammed Musa Soba, the secretary, APC Justice Forum, in a statement on Wednesday alleged that some people in Southern Kaduna are been forced into organizing a political rally for the purpose of endorsing the current governor of the state as their sole PDP candidate ahead of 2015 governorship election.
The group said, “Ordinary, we have no quarrel with people’s right to endorse their preferred candidates, but where a sitting governor uses the instrument of coercion to force political aides into submission, that in itself is political aberration.”
It alleged that the governor of the state, Muktar Ramalan Yero has directed his aides from Southern Kaduna through one Mr. Matthew Gwaza “to organize a solidarity rally for the Governor and endorse him for 2015. We believe that the people of Southern Kaduna are very much aware of their recent political history and the contempt with which they are being treated by the PDP political family.”
Consequently, it urged the people of Southern Kaduna to “the temptation of being used as sacrificial lamb” and to continue the political slavery of the region under the present state administration.
“Endorsement of Governor Yero by any group or community in Kaduna state under whatever guise is an endorsement of underdevelopment and political uncertainties,” the statement read.
