Don’t sell your voter cards, Ladoja urges Oyo voters

Former governor of Oyo State and national leader of Accord Party, Senator Rasheed Ladoja, has urged the electorate in the state not to sell their permanent voter cards but rather use them  to effect a positive change in the governance of the state in 2015.
He made the call in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Alhaji Lanre Latinwo, preparatory to the distribution of the Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) slated for Friday to Monday in the state.
Ladoja also advised eligible voters, who were yet to register, to participate fully in the forthcoming voter registration exercise.
The former governor reminded the people of the importance of the PVC and CVR, which he said, were requirements for  participation in the 2015 general elections.
“Our supporters must understand and appreciate the power of their vote as this is the only way to bring about the desired change in Oyo State come 2015. So, we advise them not to sell their cards but keep them safe for the 2015 general elections.
“INEC has said it will issue Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to eligible voters in the state from August 15 to August 18, 2014, while the electoral commission has also fixed the Continuous Voters Registration (CRV) for August 19 to August 26, 2014,” the statement said.
“We advise all those who have attained 18 years to register because the data would provide basic statistics for planning and other activities that would benefit the state and its people,” the statement read in part.
Ladoja urged all members of Accord Party and his other numerous supporters to be vigilant and report any shortcoming during the exercise to INEC and their party leaders in the various constituencies.
