Speaking at his Umuchu country-home in Aguata Local Government Area of the state, Ezeemo expressed satisfaction with the Federal Government’s rapid response to the challenge posed by Ebola.
According to him, the approval of N1.9 billion to fight the virus in the country was a worthy and well thought decision by the government to face the challenges posed by the deadly virus.
Ezeemo said the speed with which the Federal Ministries of Information and Health responded to the health challenge in the country showed that the government had seasoned and competent officers to handle any issue in the country.
He said: “We are blessed in this country with lots of intellectuals and experts in various walks of life I was impressed with the speedy response of government to the health challenge currently faced in the country and the globe, the handling of the issue was really un-African .
“I can say we are fast developing and growing to meet the basic practice of showing concern on issues that affect our subjects and the common people,” he said.
He called on various bodies in the country like National Orientation Agency, Red Cross, NGOs, health workers to engage in massive health awareness especially to the highly populated cities and rural areas to drum the need to prevent the spread of the virus.
Ezeemo called on mothers to always inculcate in their children a high level of personal hygiene and tasked adults to take seriously the control of the spread of the virus by washing hands and maintaing a clean environment.
Speaking on the just concluded governorship election in Osun State, he said the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has shown that a level play field was obtainable in the country’s electoral process and that people’s vote would count in 2015.
He said the performance of PPA governorship candidate, Mr. Ganiy Abiodun Lawal and Mrs. Grace Mabayoje Ojofakuade as deputy governorship candidate in the just concluded election showed that the party would go far in subsequent elections in the country and called on eligible voters in the country to join the party.
