Briefing newsmen yesterday in Abuja after the executive committee met, NFF’s chairman media and publicity committee, Emeka Iynama said the details of the new contract has been communicated to Keshi and will be signed between Thursday and Friday by the NFF and Keshi.
“Having finalised the fresh contract with Mr Stephen Keshi, for him to continue as head coach of the Super Eagles, and having forwarded same to Mr Keshi, the executive committee expects the new contract to be signed by the NFF and Mr Keshi in a matter of days. It will be sign between Thursday and Friday for Keshi to resumed work immediately.
Keshi’s contract as Super Eagles head coach expired at the end of Nigeria’s campaign at the recently concluded 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil. The former Togo’s national team coach took charge of Super Eagles in November 2011 and during his two and a half years spell as manager, he won the 2013 AFCON and led Nigeria to a round of 16 finish at the 2014 World Cup before his contract expired.
