Enugu guber: Obeta finally steps down for Ugwuanyi

Mr. Chidi Mark Obeta, one of the four governorship aspirants from the Enugu North Senatorial District, who did not step down for Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi at their caucus meeting held on September 26, did so yesterday.
Obeta, one of the 13 Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirants from the Enugu North Senatorial District where the slot was zoned by the party is a major boost to the endorsement of Ugwuanyi, who has been pronounced the party’s consensus candidate for the 2015 gubernatorial election in the state.
While stepping down formally for Ugwuanyi during a gathering of leaders of several youth groups at a meeting held in Grace Manor Hotel, Nsukka, Obeta also fused his structure into the camp of the preferred candidate.
He, however, told his supporters that the decision to step down was a difficult one, but he had to after receiving several calls for him to reconsider his stand when a consensus candidate had emerged.
