Addressing thousands of party supporters who thronged his family compound at Challenge, Ibadan to felicitate with him on the occasion of Sallah, Folarin, who is presently aspiring for the governorship of Oyo State, assured that there would not be room for rigging in the forthcoming general elections, saying votes must count.
Specifically, he remarked that President Goodluck Jonathan had repeatedly assured Nigerians and the world at large, that the 2015 elections would be free and fair with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) adhering strictly to the spirit of one man, one vote in all its ramifications.
To this end, he said the electorate need not entertain fears over the forthcoming polls.
He urged the electorate to ensure that their names were in the voters’ register, which, according to him, was the only weapon for them to exercise their franchise.
The former Senate Leader also emphasised the need for the people of Oyo State to join in the ongoing crusade for a second-term for President Goodluck Jonathan, stressing that the state and the entire South-West zone had a lot to gain with the PDP government both at the centre and in the state.
Folarin, accompanied by Alhaji Hazeem Gbolarumi and Ajibola Muraina, had earlier paid a similar homage to renowned PDP elders in the state, including Alhaji Yekinni Adeojo and Senator Lekan Balogun.
