Ekiti State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has called on the chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti, Chief Jide Awe to surrender himself for trial since a Federal High Court in Jos had vacated an order restraining the police from arresting him.
In a statement signed by the State Secretary of the PDP, Dr Tope Aluko and the made available to journalists in Ado Ekiti yesterday, the party said if the APC boss had no skeleton in his cupboard, there was no need for him to be running from pillar to post in order to evade arrest by the security agents.
Dr. Aluko stressed that Chief Jide Awe could only prove his innocence in the court of law instead of looking for short cut to escape justice by seeking some frivolous injunctions around the country.
According to him, going to Jos to prevent his trial on the murder case in Ekiti State, the APC chairman has proved that he has something hidden.
