Hypocrisy in political places; APC leaders, governors engage in political owambe in Ekiti, twenty hours after over 118 Nigerians die in Jos bombing

Despite the gruesome death of over 118 Nigerians at the Jos twin bombing on Tuesday, APC leaders in the height of hypocrisy thronged the political platform in Ekiti State on Wednesday to canvass for votes for Governor Kayode Fayemi.

The celebration and jubilation by the governors and leaders of the party threw under the table the pains suffered by victims of Kano and Jos bombings.Very entertaining juju musicians provided music that the APC leaders danced in the full glare of TV cameras.

Tinubu led APC governors to mount the platform appealing for votes and urging Ekiti indigenes to vote their candidate.

This action by APC leaders shocked Nigerians who watched the dance drama on TV and internet livestream because the APC had vehemently condemned President Jonathan for appearing at a political rally in Kano State a day after the first Abuja Nyanya bombing.

APC spokesman, Lai Mohammed and the Deputy National Secretary, Nasir El Rufai took turns to attack the person of President Jonathan, the PDP and the President’s associates after he attended the Kano PDP rally.

El-Rufai personally circulated an ungentlemanly graphically manipulated picture, trying to impungn the person of the President as a result of the rally.

However, the party leaders were in a meeting on Tuesday in Abuja when the Jos tragic bombing claimed over 118 lives, yet the decision was unanimously taken by APC to go ahead with the rally, which had several musicians in attendance.

Surprisingly, biased social media and television commentators controlled mainly by political considerations have kept quiet over this high level political hypocrisy. Where they have made comments, they simply excused Tinubu and his boys on the premise that they are not in government.

Analysts are worried at the rate at which APC sponsored bloggers and TV journalists are overheating the polity with falsehood and twisted reports aimed at discrediting the nation.
Most observers say the Ekiti blunder has exposed the APC leaders as men who lack integrity as they are only interested in grabbing power to fund their personal estates.
