Maigari’s exit won’t derail Nigerian football –Umeh

Acting president of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Chief Mike Umeh has declared that there is no vacuum in the nation’s soccer administration, even as he assured that the last week impeachment of his former boss, Alhaji Aminu Maigari won’t affect any thing.
Umeh who spoke exclusively to Daily Sunsports pointed out that the entire NFF executive committee was not swept away, wondering how the exit of one man will affect anything.
“We are going to meet tomorrow and we shall be taking far reaching decisions. We have to see how to get the Super Eagles play on the FIFA match free day in August. The issue of Keshi will be discussed and we have to start preparations for Morocco 2015 and also map out plans for all the other national teams. Be rest assured that we are on course, there is no vacuum,” Umeh stated.
Umeh stressed that he had directed the NFF scribe, Barrister Musa Amadu to ensure that a quality friendly is arranged for the Eagles in August, as that would help the Eagles prepare adequately for the Morocco 2015 Nations Cup qualification series, which begins in September.
“Our major task now after the World Cup is to ensure we qualify for Morocco 2015, where we would be defending the cup we won in South Africa. We are not going to take anything for  granted. I have directed Amadu to ensure we play a quality friendly before we go into the qualifiers in September and we will also act fast on the issue of whether or not to renew Keshi’s contract. Other countries have started naming their new coaches and ours will equally be de- cided soon,” Umeh said.
It would be noted that the NFF congress is also billed to hold this week in Abuja to ratify the impeachment of Maigari.
