“Here we are altogether as we sing our song joyfully.” Add the chorus, “here we are, on to the happening terrain as we pray we will always be.” That is the rhythm in present times. Right now, a number of people want to serve God and the masses through politics (at whatever level).
Trust artistes and what they can do, Nigerian entertainment players are not left out. ‘Gongo Aso’ musician 9ice (real name: Alexander) recently declared the intention to vie for the Ogbomosho North/South/Orire Federal Constituency of Oyo State at the polls. Some years back, 9ice had made laudable impression on avid viewers of Nigerian Entertainment Industry with the Sound City Music Video Awards and the Hip Hop World Awards. Later on, he set up the Alapomeji Records label. Interestingly, some Nollywood colleagues of the Revelation of the Year Award winner will also vie at the 2015 General Election. What can we say but ‘good luck, folks?’
